At Healthy Intuition we support you to firstly find out what is easy to change,
secondly, provide you with the skills to help you with the habits that are more difficult to change,
and finally, help you to understand which things are, without extreme measures, impossible to change.
Our online courses
These webinars teach the theory and practical skills to develop a non-diet approach to a healthier body. They provide a supported and friendly group where learning new habits and making changes can be inspired, encouraged, and shared. The sessions provide the foundation of knowledge for changing distorted eating behaviours. They are based on scientific, evidence based nutritional advice (based on NHS guidelines) combined with the development of intuitive eating skills. They teach you to tune into your own body’s internal cues of hunger and fullness and create mealtime opportunities that are satisfying and enjoyable without the stress of counting calories, following meal plans or shopping for fancy ingredients. These webinars empower you to make the changes that are right for you and your body.
These courses are designed to empower parents to feel confident about raising children to develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. offer some nutritional advice but they mainly focus more on connecting mums to find practical ways to support a healthy food environment, nutritionally, behaviourally and socially.
These webinars do discuss nutrition but they offer much more. They tackle tactics to prevent fussy eating, food refusal, when to worry about food behaviours and when not to! They teach some of the theory behind how the language we use and the ways we discuss food with babies and young children influences their beliefs and food behaviours in the future. The sessions give you all the tools you need to relax around food with your baby and know how to handle any challenges that are thrown (sometimes literally!) your way.
'Tackling Eating Habits Together' Online Course
A 10 week online course that teaches the principles of intuitive eating. At the end of the 10 weeks you will have delved into your own personal relationship with food, learnt the theory behind intuitive eating, trialled some of the practical strategies that can help you change habits and will leave with a personal roadmap of how you can make the sustainable changes you need to make for you. You will have a fully developed plan, will understand your own food journey and will be well on your way to knowing how to change unhealthy habits that have kept you in a constant cycle of dieting for many years.
The course has a maximum of 8 people on it and is conducted in a confidential, safe and friendly manner. We ensure that all participants are comfortable to share information and there is no obligation to do so. If you simply want to listen and learn that is fine, equally if you want to get stuck right in, read all the resources and participate fully in the in course and homework tasks then you will complete the course feeling very confident about continuing your journey to a healthier relationship with food. Wherever you are on your journey, this is a great introduction to how you want to develop next.
Raising Confident Eaters Online Course
Whether you are worried about choosing the right weaning method for your baby, want to discuss weaning with other mums or really want to understand how a baby’s feeding experiences in the first few years of life contribute to their relationship with food in the future then this course will cover that. The sessions offer some nutritional advice but they mainly focus more on connecting mums to find practical ways to support a healthy food environment, nutritionally, behaviourally and socially.
We all want our children to grow up to be healthy and feeling confident about themselves and their body, to be kind enough to themselves that they choose foods that they enjoy and will nourish them rather than just comfort them. Learn how to minimise fussy eating, challenging food behaviours and support your child to feel relaxed around food and their bodies.
Sometimes a more personal approach is needed – some 1-2-1 time to discuss privately your concerns around eating habits and behaviours.
Healthy Intuition offers 1-2-1 consultations to individuals and parents that are keen to explore intuitive eating as a non-diet approach to a healthy body and mind.
Consultations can be face-to-face (Staffordshire/Derbyshire area) or online (zoom) and are designed to be flexible around your needs and timetable.
We usually start with a 1 ½ hour consultation but then depending on your personal situation we discuss a plan to move you along your journey. I work around you, plan sessions that meet your needs whether that be further longer sessions or a series of shorter ½ hr sessions just to keep you on track.
We don’t use algorithms or fit you into a box. We just talk you through the process and provide the support you need at the time that you need it.
By delving into the reasons why we choose certain foods at certain times, we start to understand and accept ourselves and from that point on we can start again - we can unlearn some of the barriers to a healthy relationship with food that have been dominating our lives for far too long.
